Isabelle Zacher Bosch, 91, of Devils Lake, ND, formerly of Minnewaukan, ND, passed away on Sunday morning, May 17, 2020, at Eventide Devils Lake Care Center.
Isabelle Zacher Bosch, 91, of Devils Lake, ND, formerly of Minnewaukan, ND, passed away on Sunday morning, May 17, 2020, at Eventide Devils Lake Care Center. Isabelle (Zacher) Bosch was born Dec. 28, 1928, at Balta, ND, the daughter of Matthew and Barbara (Zimmerman) Zacher. Isabelle was raised and went to school at Balta until the family moved to Minnewaukan, where she finished school. In 1948, Isabelle married Alvin Bakken and made their home in Devils Lake, ND. They had two children together, Sandra and Eugene. Isabelle worked at several places in town, but mostly at the Eagles Club as a bartender and waitress for 27 years, which she enjoyed every much. On Feb. 9, 1980, Isabelle married Val Bosch at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, which she was an active member. Isabelle had a love for birds and bird watching, especially hummingbirds. Isabelle loved baking cookies for her family and friends and she was also an avid reader. Isabelle’s loving family include; her son, Eugene and his wife, Patty of Devils Lake; five grandchildren, Tara Bakken, Bismarck, ND, Chris Bakken, Warren, MN, Eric Marquez, West Fargo, ND, Coty Bakken, Fargo, ND, Sammi Lovin, Devils Lake; several great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Terry (Joni) Bosch, MN, Debra (Dale) Sedlezky, MO, Valerie LaRocque, Dunseith, ND, Sandra (Randy) Weishear, TX, Pam (mark) Anderson, Jamestown, ND, and Kathy (Jeff) Miller, Cando, ND; sisters, Beatrice (Howard) Quammen, Minot, ND, Diane Raburn, Winters, CA; brother, Lawrence (Sharon) Zacher, Bismarck; and sister-in-law, Betty Zacher, Englewood, OH. She was preceded in death by; her husband, Val; daughter, Sandi; grandson, Kyle; mother, Barbara; and father, Matthew; brothers, Harold and Robert; sister, Delores Gibbons; and her grandparents. Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 20 at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake from 4 until 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was on Thursday, May 21 at 10 a.m. with the Very Reverend C.F. Wilhelm celebrating the Mass and the Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Isabelle will be laid to peaceful rest at the Devils Lake Cemetery.
