Wendy Marie Riling, 57, passed away Thursday May 7, 2020, at the Aneta Parkview Health Center in Aneta, ND, after battling dementia over the years.
Wendy Marie Riling, 57, passed away Thursday May 7, 2020, at the Aneta Parkview Health Center in Aneta, ND, after battling dementia over the years. Services are TBD as of now. Wendy was born Dec. 6, 1962, in Ashland, OH, to the proud parents of John and Sandra (Somerlade) Carr. On July 4, 1980, at age 17, she married her husband of ten years, David Riling, in Ashland, OH, then later moved to Elko, NV, where they built their home and started raising their children, William and Natasha. She worked at the Red Lion Inn and Casino for many years as a Keno runner and a server. Later Wendy moved to Devils Lake, ND, with her mother, Sandra, step-father, Tom Johnston and sisters, Tammy and Amy. Wendy was always a hard working mother who loved waitressing and brightening her customers days with her warm loving smile. She loved going out to watch races and participating and watching the yearly car show Devils Run. Wendy is well-known for her love for her family and friends, always greeting them with her beautiful smile and a warm hug. Wendy loved her classical music and her beloved pets and grandchildren. Wendy received her GED then continued her education for computers. Wendy will be dearly loved and missed by all those that know her. Wendy leaves behind; her loving family, children, William Riling, Natasha (Brent) Schall (all of Devils Lake); sisters, Tammy Berry (of Sturtevant, WI) and Amy Saari (of Colorado Springs, CO); grandchildren, Evan, Natalie, Bella, Mercadeez, Sandra and Charity Schall (all of Devils Lake); nephews, Dylan Saari (of Devils Lake) and Tanner Saari (of Fountain, CO); and nieces, Samantha (Sean) Meehan (of Sturtevant, WI) and Cassidy Saari (of Grand Forks, ND); great-nieces, Mandy and Aleesia Meehan (of Sturtevant); special friend, David Riling (of Devils Lake); and so many other friends that loved her dearly. Preceded in death by; her parents, Sandra Johnston and John Carr; and step- father, Tom Johnston. A very special thank you to all the staff at Aneta Parkview Health Center.
