Bob (Robert) Belanus, lost his long battle with early onset dementia in the loving care of family Nov. 20, 2019, at the age of 66. A Celebration of his Wonderful Life will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Devils Lake, ND, on Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. Our family is grateful to the new and old friends that have helped navigate this very difficult disease. Bob was born Feb. 22, 1953, to Marcella (Beauchamp) and Bartholomew Belanus in Langdon and raised in Walhalla, ND. Bob was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. One could list his many occupations and the groups he participated in over the years; there is no need, as the most important thing in Bob’s life was his family. Remember him as an incredibly loving, hard working, gentle, thoughtful, trustworthy and caring child of God. He proudly taught his girls many skills needed to be self-sufficient in life. Unfortunately, his disease kept him from being able to share his many skills with his sons-in-love and seven beautiful grandchildren. He had a love for music, which gave him great peace during his last years of life. The power of music allowed him to continue to connect with those he loved so dearly. He is survived by; his wife, Jann (Christian) of 43 years; daughters, Sara (Chris Mees) of Bismarck, ND; Jennie (Jonathan Olson) of Grand Forks, ND; Greta (Michael LeDoyen) of Ormond Beach, FL; and Danica (Steven Allard) of Bismarck; grandchildren, Nora and Elliot Mees; Grason, Meris and Ruby LeDoyen; and Isabelle, Dominic and baby Allard arriving in April. He is also survived by; his brother, James (Teresa) Belanus of Walhalla; sister, Carole (Kerry) DeMars of Grafton, ND; sister-in-law, Kathy (Doug) Tehven of Fargo, ND; brother-in-law, Tim (Sandy) Christian of Grand Forks; nieces, nephews; and mother-in-law, Shirley Christian of Grand Forks. He was preceded in death by; his parents; infant brother, Paul; and father-in-law, Roy Christian.
