Bruce Conrad Pederson, 63, of Glastonbury, CT, formerly of Devils Lake, ND, passed away with his family by his side at Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven, CT, on Aug. 18, 2019.
Bruce Conrad Pederson, 63, of Glastonbury, CT, formerly of Devils Lake, ND, passed away with his family by his side at Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven, CT, on Aug. 18, 2019. Bruce was born July 3, 1956, in Devils Lake to Harland and Marilyn (Hagen) Pederson. He was raised and educated in Devils Lake, graduating from Devils Lake Central in 1974. He went to work at Sioux Manufacturing in Fort Totten, ND, after high school and was there for 18 years working his way into management. He worked many engineering jobs with his favorite being Case & Fiat in Fargo. His latest was as an Aerospace Engineer Plant Manager at Prax Air in Manchester, CT. He graduated in May of 2003 from the University of Mary with a double Masters in Engineering and Business Management. Bruce married Gisele “Gigi” Strouse in 1979 in Devils Lake and they had one daughter, Reanne, and later divorced. He raised Reanne as a single parent until he married Judith Turmeque on July 3, 1996, in Glastonbury, CT. They welcomed Cassandra on July 13, 1999 and Andrew on Aug. 28, 2000. They later adopted Juliana Turmeque in 2018. Bruce was very strong despite fighting metastatic Stage 4 Prostate Cancer for over two years. He worked up until July of 2019. He was devoted to his family, loved his children and grandchildren, always talking about their achievements. He loved to golf and be on the water. He loved watching the Vikings and any golf tournament. He was loved very much and will be missed by so many. He is survived by wife, Judith, (Glastonbury), three daughters: Reanne and her children, all of Devils Lake; Keegan (16), Emmalynn (8) and Seth (3); Cassandra (20) of Providence, RI; Juliana (15) of Glastonbury and one son: Andrew (19) of Hartford, CT. Balbina Turmeque, mother-in-law, of Glastonbury; two brothers: Kim and his identical twin, Brian, of Devils Lake; sisters-in-law Isabelle (Glastonbury) and Marlene (Florida) and brother-in-law Tonio, Colombia, South America. He was preceeded in death by his parents, sister Teresa Lynn Pederson, grandson, Avery Keith Pederson and father-in-law, Archimedes Turmeque. A gathering to celebrate Bruce’s life will be held at Roosevelt Park on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 3 p.m. with music, food and fun.
