Anyone who already has started a small business of their own or may be thinking of it will want to attend a special event offered Wednesday, Dec. 12. Forward Devils Lake and its partners North Central Planning Council, ND Small Business Development Center, U.S. Small Business Administration, the Devils Lake Chamber of Commerce and Train ND NE powered by Lake Region State College are sponsoring “Entrepreneur Boot Camp” from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Lake Region State College Heritage Hall. Brad Barth from Forward DL wants you to know that this is NOT what you normally think of when you think of “boot camp.” There will be no angry drill sergeant yelling at you, no buzz-cut hair cuts and no long marches with heavy packs on your back. Relieved? Instead there will be speakers, like Kale Stromme, and others, for example, talking about some of the following topics throughout the day: •Business start-up issues •Human resources basics •Business banking •Accounting 101 •Insurance basics •E-Commerce and/or Web basics •Sales and/or marketing basics •Need for a business plan •Roundtable discussions •Networking Plus, there will be a lunchtime Q & A panel with local business entrepreneurs to answer your questions and concerns.
