Shandiin Rose GoodBird, 19, went to be with our Heavenly Father, on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, in a fire in Alexandria, Minnesota. Visitation for Shandiin will be at the Four Winds High School, Fort Totten on Tuesday, Jan. 23 beginning at 5 p.m. with the Prayer Service and Time of Remembrance at 8 p.m. with Antoine and Verdelia American Horse officiating. The procession to Fort Totten will leave at 4 p.m. on Tuesday from the City Plaza. Services for Shandiin in Newtown will begin on Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 5 p.m. at the Johnny Bird Hall in Newtown with the Funeral Service at 8 p.m. with Antione and Verdelia American Horse officiating. Shandiin Rose was born on May 25, 1998, in Grand Forks, ND, the oldest of twin girls, Shandiin and Nadean, the daughter of Dusti GoodBird and Floyd Crazy Thunder. Shandiin attended Minnewaukan School, grades 1-4, then to Four Winds Community School, grades 5-10. Her junior year was at Chemawa Indian School and she graduated from Four Winds class of 2016 with her twin sister Nadean. During middle school, Shandiin was in the Gifted and Talented Program, Lego League and Robotics Team. She played on the Varsity Basketball Team for Chemawa. She attended the Alexandria Technical College, Alexandria and studying Fashion Design Management. Shandiin enjoyed a variety of music; HipHop, Classic Rock, EDM and RAP. She liked to write short stories, drawing, reading, online shopping, watching YouTube videos and her favorite TV shows. She loved to dance Shuffling and Jingle Dress. Shandiin was a free-spirit who dared to be different with a kind-loving heart. She also loved being outdoors and caring for her animals. Shandiin was fearless in all she did, making new friends and spending time with her family. Most of all, she loved her twin, Nadean so much that they would video chat every day. She loved her twin sister more than anything. Shandiin is survived by her loving family.
