The Devils Lake Police Department reports that a 60-year-old Starkweather man was arrested for DUI and marijuana possession after being pulled over for erratic driving of his semi truck.

The operator of the truck was stopped at approximately 1:10 p.m Thursday by Officer Teresa Longie after allegedly running a red light at the intersection of Hwy. 2 and Hwy. 20.

After the driver pulled into the parking lot at Pizza Hut on College Dr., Longie suspected he was driving under the influence. A subsequent search of the cab revealed both marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia.

The driver reportedly claimed that he had been on the road since 6 a.m., but apparently offered no other explanation for his erratic driving.

The man, whose name has not been released, will be charged in Ramsey County District Court for DUI, driver-related possession of marijuana, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

The name of the company the driver was working for has not been released.
