On Tuesday, June 13 the annual election of the Devils Lake School Board will be held for the purpose of electing two members to the Devils Lake Public School Board.
Seven candidates have filed for the two positions available:
Amy Lee
Corey Meyer
Emily Foss
Dan Lebrun
Valorie Carlson
Blaine Volk
Britton Lagasse
District patrons will also vote on whether or not to publish the minutes in the official school district newspaper for the next two years.
Voting will take place in the Memorial Building, 524 4th Ave. NE, for all residents. The poll hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Applications for absentee ballots* are available at the Superintendent’s Office in the Devils Lake Sports Center, 1601 College Drive North, Devils Lake, ND.
*Important Note: These ballots are not automatically sent out to voters from the Ramsey County Auditor’s Office, like they do before the November voting, during the presidential election, or every two years in the “off year election.”
The school board elections are different because they come along every year as terms expire. You have to obtain and fill out the application for an absentee ballot application and send it in to the Superintendent’s Office (or hand deliver it) and once they get your application, they will be able to send out the ballot through the mail.
