Devils Lake Police reported the following:
Sept. 10: Police were dispatched to the Hope Center on 3rd St. NE at 9: 29 a.m. on a report of two men involved in a physical altercation. When officers arrived on scene, they spoke with the victim, an adult male who had an injured jaw with a bleeding laceration. The victim said he was sitting in front of the Hope Center when another adult male kicked the victim in the face for no reason. The victim said he didn’t know the alleged assailant; multiple witnesses corroborated the victim’s story. Officers were able to locate the suspect a short time later at 9:34 a.m. Although he failed to provide identification, the suspect was identified as Joseph Dolezilek, age 40, of Devils Lake. Dolezilek placed under arrest, charged with assault and resisting arrest, both class B misdemeanors.
