FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota Democratic-NPL issued a press release on Aug. 4 that the Executive Committee of the District 44 Democratic-NPL has appointed Jamie Selzler to serve the remainder of the term of ND State Sen. Josh Boschee. Boschee was elected Mayor of Fargo and announced his resignation on Aug. 3.
Selzler said, “I am deeply grateful to the District 44 Executive Committee for placing their trust and confidence in me, and I will work hard every day to live up to the faith they have shown in me. I also want to thank Mayor Josh Boschee for his many years of service and for setting such a strong example of how to work hard, treat people with respect, build relationships across party lines, and represent the people of District 44.
I know that trust has to be earned, and I intend to earn the trust of the residents of District 44 by being accessible, responsive, and willing to listen. I believe we learn more by listening than by talking, so I look forward to learning from my colleagues in the Legislature and hearing directly from the people and organizations across our community. I care deeply about issues including housing, childcare, jobs, and supporting public employees. I am humbled by this opportunity and ready to begin serving the people of District 44.”
Selzler has over 25 years of leadership experience across multiple businesses, managing teams ranging from five or 10 people to organizations of several thousand. He is the founder and CEO of My One Change. In addition, he has been active in Democratic politics in North Dakota and nationally for more than two decades, including working as executive director of the North Dakota Dem-NPL from 2007-2008. Selzler has served as North Dakota’s Democratic National Committeeman for the past three years.
District 44 Democratic-NPL Chair Jessie Smette said, “District 44 is excited to announce Jamie Selzler will complete Josh Boschee’s term as Senator.
