The Lake Region District Health Board met at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28 in the Armory Meeting Room of the Courthouse and Memorial Building complex.

On the agenda were changes to be considered in the advertisement to hire a new Director for Lake Region District Health.

Present at the meeting were Blaine Volk, Chairman of the Ramsey County Commission who chaired the meeting; Elonda Nord, Tammy Kuk from Benson County, Jamie Allmaras from Eddy County, Tanya Munson from Eddy County, Terry Hoffert from Pierce County and Tanya Wieler, Human Resource consultant for Northeast North Dakota.

Also present were Denton Heisler, the present Director of Lake Region District Health and Sheri Bertsch, also from LRDH.

Although Volk chaired the meeting, it was Wieler who was asking for clarity and feedback from the members present before she finalizes the ad for the position that will be vacated by Heisler.

She had a couple of examples to work from and after a great deal of discussion, she summed up the results and all members agreed with her to “keep the 4-year degree” as “preferred” and on the number of years of experience in a supervisory role they would require.

Wieler felt confident that she could come back with a more specific list of requirements to put in the ad that would make it clear to applicants what and who they were looking for in the position.

Finally, they discussed who would be part of the pre-screening committee and who would work with Volk and Wieler conducting interviews with the qualified applicants they receive.
