DEVILS LAKE – The Ramsey County Commission held a regular meeting at the Ramsey County District Court House on Tuesday, July 7, at 8 a.m. Chairman Blaine Volk and Commissioners Bill Hodous, Ed Brown, Jeff Frith, County Auditor Kandy Christopherson and States Attorney Daniel Howell were in attendance.
Highway Superintendent Jason Kraft spoke first on the topic of culverts in Ramsey County. He requested a study be done on the culvert on the Ramsey County line, and he plans to get a price for the next meeting. Culvers on low water crossing have also been delivered, and the Commission approved a motion to pay DS Construction $17,500.
Kraft requested $18,600 to purchase a flatbed trailer to transport the culverts, which was approved by the Commission. A $5,000 quote payment to DS Construction was also approved.
The Ramsey County North Snag & Clear public hearing was also held during the meeting. Six and a half miles are set to be snagged and cleared, with the projected cost being $73,000. The motion was approved by the Commission.
The unfinished business consisted of discussions regarding the 2027 budget, which remains unresolved.
The new business included discussions about the North Dakota County Commissioners Association, with no interest in joining other committees at this time. The Disaster Declaration Resolution was approved by the Commission, and the Tyler Tech training for the Treasury Department was also approved. There were no visitors and delegations, and the meeting was adjourned.
