DUNSEITH, N.D. / BOISSEVAIN, Man. — The International Peace Garden invites guests to celebrate “Pollinators, Peace and the Garden We Share” at the annual Gala in the Garden on Saturday, Aug. 22, from 5 to 10 p.m.
“The pollinator theme reminds us that all of nature is connected,” said International Peace Garden CEO Tim Chapman. “Pollinators are an essential part of our ecosystem, and we’re celebrating them all throughout the Garden this year.”
All proceeds will support the Garden in its mission of fostering peace and goodwill among nations through the beauty of nature, with a focus on the Garden’s earliest history. In the uncertain economic times of 1932, Canada and the U.S. saw a need to establish a special place to commemorate the long-standing friendship between our two nations. The Civilian Conservation Corps built the first picnic shelters, hand-dug Lake Udall, and constructed the Historic Lodge with lumber from Duck Mountain, Manitoba, and stone from fields in nearby North Dakota. Funds from the Gala will aid in restoring the Lodge, preserving our history and providing rental revenue to help sustain our facilities and programs.
Guests are encouraged to wear black and gold, bringing a touch of elegance to the event featuring a social hour, dinner, live music, raffles, and both silent and live auctions. Gala guests will enjoy the Garden at the colorful height of the blooming season, as supporters gather for an evening of fun, festivities and friendship.
