Please join us at the Stump Lake Village Main Hall for an evening of great music on Saturday, July 4, from 7 – 9 p.m. “Sweet Freedom”, a local band featuring Bob Lachapelle, Larry Nelson, and Greg Norman will play a wide variety of music such as Waltz, Polka, 50’s and 60’s, plus old-time country.
Bob has been playing music for 59 years, and has had three albums recorded as well as two 45’s. He is also a song writer. Larry is on the drums, and has played in this band for 30 years. Greg was with the band in the 80’s, took a break for his career, and came back to join the band four years ago.
“Sweet Freedom” has opened for Confederate Railroad, Reba McEntire, Sherwin Linton, and has played back up for Buddy Knox a number of times.
This event is free will offering, and there will be popcorn and ice cream treats provided.
There will be a spectacular Nelson County Fireworks show at the Village at dusk! You won’t want to miss this show, sponsored by Nelson County and other generous donors. A complete list of donors will be available after the show.
The Lakota Volunteer firemen are in charge of the fireworks.
Stump Lake Historical Village is 12 miles south of Lakota on Highway 1, at the edge of beautiful Stump Lake Park.
