Sean Roed, Paramedic and Director of Operations at Lake Region Ambulance in Devils Lake, has been named a 2026 Bush Fellow.
Roed holds a Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Medical Services Administration, a Master’s degree in Emergency Services Management, and is currently a Doctoral Candidate in the Doctor of Emergency Management (DEM) program at Columbia Southern University.
With more than three decades of experience in Emergency Medical Services, firefighting, instruction, and leadership, Roed has dedicated his career to addressing healthcare gaps in rural and Tribal communities. He has led the development of community paramedicine programs, pioneered mobile ICU concepts, and built partnerships across healthcare systems, policymakers, and Tribal leaders.
Roed has focused on improving access to care in rural and Tribal communities through innovations such as community paramedicine and mobile ICU systems.
“For me, the Bush Fellowship is an opportunity to grow as a leader so I can build better systems and make sure care reaches the people who need it most,” Roed said.
As a Bush Fellow, he is advancing a vision to create an integrated EMS system that delivers timely, equitable care, that is bringing advanced medical services directly to patients regardless of geography.
