Nelson County Historical Society Annual Meeting Planned

The annual meeting of the Nelson County Historical Society will be held on Thursday, July 9, at 7 p.m. in the Main Street Building of Stump Lake Village.

They will discuss the annual budget, have election of Board members, and discuss the 2026 Threshing Bee. They invite everyone attending to consider becoming an active volunteer.

Their summer projects including painting benches, making changes to some displays, and plenty of cleaning.

They also offer a nice selection of souvenir shirts, sweatshirts in new designs and colors, onesies for the babies, a gorgeous selection of handcrafted clocks, lefse turners & more by Roy Lindvall, and an excellent selection of handcrafted wooden toys by Paul Nielsen in their Gift Shop. They invite all attendees to come and check them out!

All are invited to attend. Lunch will be served and door prizes will be given away.

The Stump Lake Village Museum is again open every Sunday June through Labor Day, 1-5 p.m., for tours of the buildings (free will offering). If you have groups larger than five, please call Diane Swenson (see below) so adequate tour guides will be on hand.

Arrangements can be made in advance for tours on other days (volunteer help permitting). Their Main Hall provides a beautiful venue for events like family reunions, birthdays, etc. and is available for rent by reservation: call Diane Swenson at 701-247-3008. Facebook Stump Lake Village
