Police Report for June 4

Devils Lake Police Department (DLPD) reports the following:

May 30: A 2010 Chevrolet Impala reported stolen the previous week was reported being seen by witnesses in town and the passengers and driver of the stolen car were alleged to have broken into other local cars, most of which were unlocked. At 3:13 a.m., police made contact with the vehicle, attempting to stop it; the car did not stop and there was a pursuit on 5th Ave., SE, then turned onto Hwy. 20, where it was driven into the ditch near Ed’s Bait Shop. Various law enforcement officers were involved in the pursuit in addition to DLPD, including ND Highway Patrol and Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office. Inside the vehicle were six juveniles of different ages. The driver was a 14-year-old juvenile male, who had a record for theft of other vehicles. There was various stolen property located in the vehicle from at least four other cars. While the other juveniles were released into the custody of their parents or guardians, the 14-year-old was taken into custody and sent to Grand Forks juvenile detention. They were referred to Juvenile Court to face pending charges related to the incident.
