It was an extraordinary day, the weather nearly perfect, as the crowd gathered to honor all who served and died for Memorial Day 2026 in the Devils Lake Cemetery.
The Devils Lake Community observed Memorial Day 2026 at 9:45 a.m. in the Memorial Building with VFW Post 756 remembering and honoring those who served in the military through the years. The VFW Auxiliary conducted the wreath laying ceremony in the Devils Lake Cemetery at 11 a.m.
The VFW Post 756 and Auxiliary conducted a solemn service that included reading the names of their members who had passed during the previous year, a 21-gun salute and at the end, the solemn bugler playing Taps .
