Jacoby Allery took first place in the 9-year-old division in the Knights of Columbus State Free Throw Competition on Saturday, March 25, 2023, in Bismarck.
How he got there
First, he won the city and district competition here in Devils Lake and that advanced him to the regionals in Jamestown where he made 20 out of 25 and took first in that one, too, which advanced him to the state competition in Bismarck.
He and another contestant tied for first, making 19 out of 25, so they went to a “shootout” and shot another five.
The other contestant made 3 out of 5, but Jacoby made all 5 out of 5.
Jacoby is in 4th grade at Prairie View Elementary School and loves to play basketball.
His dad is Jake Allery and his mom’s name is Alisa Greywater.
Jacoby has one older brother and two younger brothers and one younger sister.
They are all so proud of him and his accomplishments.
