Elijah Bjorlie has a story about a vehicle participating in Devils Run 2026.
It is a 1958 Ford Thunderbird.
I grew up with this car in my family. The story I was told was that it (the Thunderbird) came from McVille Motors originally purchased by the dealership owner. Then it was purchased by my Great-great uncle, Chris Clauson.
When Chris passed away in the late 1980s the car went to my grandpa, Severin Larson. Severin and my Great Uncle Bill Wagner restored the interior.
When Severin passed away in 2010, Wayne Ressler of McVille bought the car. Wayne recently passed away and his wife was gracious enough to sell the car back to my husband and me. We have owned the car for around a year now.
This car is the first year of the uni-body design, 4 seater, and 352 motor for the Thunderbird. It has been stored inside the majority of its life and has the original gulf stream blue paint. Most of the parts are still original. It has under 100k miles on it with the odometer saying 30k. The original motor and transmission were rebuilt this spring, 2026.
