May 14: Devils Lake Public Schools will have its Groundbreaking Ceremony for Central Middle School on Thursday, May 14 at 1:30 p.m. Please use Door 3 on the west side of the school for the ceremony. Located at 325 7th St. NE.

May 15: Bring your crew out for a brew at the Downtown Devils Lake Beer Crawl, 5 – 7:30 p.m. Explore a curated lineup of craft beers that will ignite your taste buds. Stroll through the downtown area where each participating business unveils a unique and delightful brew. This isn’t your average sampling – it’s a celebration of community, good times, and hoppy delights. This year’s raffle prizes include ND Country Fest tickets, Atypical Brewing Gift Cards, and an “Around the Town” Beer Basket! May 17: The Sons of Norway Heim Lodge invites you to come to a presentation in the basement of St. Olaf Church, corner of 6th Street and 6th Ave. NE, Devils Lake, at 3:15 p.m. on “Syttende mai” to hear special speaker Dr. Peder Gjovik speak about his extensive and fascinating research and direct family history about the Norwegian “Underground” network of courageous Norwegians who resisted the Nazi invasion and the Quisling puppet government during World War II. A short SON business meeting will take place before Gjovik’s presentation, at 2:30 p.m., you are welcome to come to that, as well, or come for Gjovik’s talk only at 3:15 p.m.

May 22: District 15 GOP presents Candidate Debate/Forum – Devils Lake Mayoral, County Commission, State Legislators and Federal Candidates have been invited. moderated by Dustin Gawrylow. 7 p.m. in the Robert Fawcett Auditorium at LRSC – open to the public – all are welcome to attend!

May 28: The Lakota Volunteer Fire Dept. will host the Devils Run Steak Fry, starting at 4:30 p.m. at the Lakota Fire Hall, 107 2nd St. E, in Lakota. Cars from the Devils Run Car Show will arrive at about 5:30 p.m. Burger dinners are $15 each, ribeye dinners are $30 each. All dinners include a baked potato, beans, breadstick and dessert. All proceeds will benefit the fire department.

May 29 – May 31: Devils Run 34th Car Show and Rod Run in various places throughout Devils Lake and the Lake Region. According to organizer Stan Orness, “Right now we have Devils Run entries from seven states and two Canadian provinces. (Updated 4-17-26) I believe this will be a record year. DON’T MISS IT!!!” Details at www.devilsruncarshow.com.

June 9: Annual School Board Election will be held for the Devils Lake School District.

June 16: Norwegian Treats bake sale 6 p.m. before the Arts In The Park concert at Roosevelt Park. Concert begins at 7 p.m. but don’t wait until then to take advantage of these treats. they sold out EARLY last year!
