The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in an ongoing investigation involving an injured male located along Highway 20 South near Ed’s Bait Shop.

According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, an adult male was walking southbound along Highway 20 on Thursday, April 9 between approximately 6 a.m. and 6:25 a.m., when he sustained injuries under unknown circumstances. The cause of the injuries currently remains undetermined. The man was transported to Altru Hospital for medical treatment, where he survived his injuries.

According to an April 15 post on the Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page, all available video footage has been obtained around the areas where the injured man had been walking, near the Ranch Steakhouse, Devil’s Lake Rural Fire Department, and Ed’s Bait Shop, and efforts are being made to locate any additional surveillance video from nearby residences or businesses.

Investigators are asking anyone who was traveling in the vicinity during the specified timeframe, who may have witnessed the individual walking along the highway or observed any suspicious or unusual activity to come forward, as even the smallest detail may assist in determining what happened.

“Just waiting for more (information) to come in and run down some leads,” said Sheriff Bryan Lang on Thursday, April 16.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office at 701-662-0708 or submit a tip through their local 411 tip line.
