City workers have had their hands full this winter, keeping the residential streets cleared of snow and ice accumulation. They were hard at it again on Monday morning, March 16, along 7th Avenue NE as they knock down the city’s street and avenue snow banks perhaps just in time for another round of measurable snow forecasted for Tuesday and Wednesday.

First, a grader cuts down the ice and snow that have accumulated on each side of the city’s streets and avenues bringing it into the center of the roadway. (photos by Louise Oleson, DLJ Editor)
Then a snow blower, a big one, clears the ridges from the streets and avenues blowing the snow and ice into dump trucks. (photos by Louise Oleson, DLJ Editor)
The collected snow is then emptied along the Soo Line Railroad Tracks and Ruger Park, making what looks like a “mountain range” of snow and ice
