11/14/25: Police were dispatched to an apartment on 14th Street SE for a report of a subject rattling the resident’s window and appearing to attempt to enter the apartment above, which was later found to have a screen door that had been cut into. An intoxicated juvenile male was found at the scene who refused to identify himself and became erratic and violent towards officers. The adult female with two teenage daughters who lives at the above apartment said an adult male was also identified at the scene and was alleged to have been the one who had cut into the screen door and was throwing mulch at the window of the teenage daughters in the apartment on the upper floor. Once identified, the juvenile male was found to have an active Pick Up and Hold order from Benson County; he had been taken to the local hospital to be treated for over intoxication and was later found to have a blood alcohol content of .34. Once the juvenile male was medically cleared, he was transported to Grand Forks Detention Center.

11/14/25: Police were dispatched to an apartment on Walnut Street W for a report of criminal trespass. An adult female was reported to be at the property and was not allowed to be there. Officers reported that they had dealt with the same female earlier that same day at the same address and told her not to return. The female was reported to have criminally trespassed a month earlier. The female was in the bedroom where she was handcuffed and transported to the Lake Region Law Enforcement Center and transferred over to the corrections staff. She was cited and charged in municipal court with criminal trespass and provided a copy of the citation.

11/14/25: An adult female called dispatch at approximately 5:44 a.m. to report a stolen vehicle from where she was staying with friends the previous night who lived near Black Paws Brewery. The female said she didn’t give anyone permission to use her vehicle. Downtown CCTV footage from the night of Nov. 13 showed the female park the car with an adult male wearing a white and green hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans as her passenger. Later that same night, the same adult male passenger was seen on CCTV footage meeting with another adult male wearing a black coat, blue sweatshirt, black pants and white shoes. The adult male in the white and green sweatshirt was seen entering the car on the passenger side, while the adult male in the black coat got in from the driver’s side and the car drove away. BIA dispatch provided further information about the vehicle, saying that their officers initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle; both occupants fled on foot and the passenger was caught while the driver fled. The victim was notified that her vehicle was recovered and towed.

11/16/25: Police were dispatched to an apartment on Fifth Street NE for a report of domestic violence. Upon arrival, an adult female on the scene alleged that an adult male, her live-in boyfriend, had struck her teenage son who had been in his own room. The son confirmed the allegation that he had been struck once, causing him pain, and that the adult male had been drinking all day, referring to him as his stepfather. The adult male admitted to the assault, said that he currently lives with the adult female and is soon to be married to her. The adult male apologized to the teenager as he was escorted out of the apartment; he was transported to corrections, and is facing a pending charge of domestic violence (simple assault).
