The Ramsey County Commission met Tuesday, Dec. 16 in the Courthouse Commission Chambers at 5:30 p.m.

It began with the call to order, Pledge of Allegiance, approval of minutes, approval of year end bills (plus four additional bills not on the original list) and approval of the agenda.

Ed Brown was welcomed to the commission by Commission President Blaine Volk.

Lisa Diseth, County Treasurer gave a report regarding the county’s finances and balances in the various bank accounts they utilize.

Jason Kraft, Highway Superintendent gave a report to the commission and discssed with the commissioners the new big purchase of the plow truck.

Unfinished business included the appointment of two individuals, John Martinson and Duane Ash, to the Ramsey County Water Board, who volunteered for the two vacant positions.

New business included the approval of the 2026 Beer licenses, approval of Tyler Calderwood who volunteered for the open position on the Weed Board. They also approved of the Precinct and Polling Location for the 2026 election. One abatement was also approved.

Daniel Howell added a couple of items for discussion that included the Lake Region Law Enforcement Center and Police Department plans, bonding process and how to get everything ready regarding these plans for the ballot in November. He also discussed a resolution to allow the National Guard to assist with a project at the New Ramsey County Fair Grounds.
