It was a barrel of laughs at The Liquid Bean on Tuesday night. Lake Region State College students got to see stand-up comedian Myq Kaplan (born Michael Kaplan) riff on his mother, himself, and random people in the audience. The 46-year-old comedian from New York City has toured all over the US. He also has appeared on “Last Comic Standing,” “The Tonight Show,” and “America’s Got Talent.” He’s also opened for Louis C.K. at Carnegie Hall.

Kaplan has an east coast, millennial type of humor that resonates with many young people. While attending Boston University, he won “funniest student.” A nugget of information as well. I attended Boston University at the same time as Kaplan and got to see him perform stand-up a few times.

The LRSC students “got” Kaplan’s humor and had a good hour of comedy.

After the show, he took pictures with students who wanted to and passed out colorful business cards.
