Six area teens were injured in an accident last night. Sgt. Joseph Knowski from the North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that six teenagers, all from Devils Lake, were injured in a one vehicle rollover that sent all six to the hospital.
Knowski reported that at 9:20 p.m. Monday night the 14-year old Devils Lake male driving a 2008 Dodge pickup truck lost control of the vehicle on a gravel road two miles east of Devils Lake.
He said in his report that the vehicle was east bound when the driver lost control and the vehicle started to fishtail, entered the north ditch and rolled. It came to rest on the passenger side facing northwest.
There were five passengers in the vehicle with the driver, three male passengers, 15 years of age, one male was 16 and the lone female passenger was 14 years old.
None of the occupants of the vehicle were wearing their seatbelts. All were taken to Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake and later one teen was transferred to a Fargo Hospital.
Responding to the incident with the NDHP were the Ramsey County Rural and the Devils Lake City Fire Departments, the Ramsey County Sheriff’s office and the Devils Lake Ambulance Service.
None of the names of those involved have been released.
The incident remains under investigation by the highway patrol.
