BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — No Sears or Kmart stores in North Dakota or South Dakota are on a list of stores that the company is planning to shut down.
Sears Holdings Corp. announced this week it intends to close 100 to 120 stores around the country.
On Thursday, the company released a list of 79 stores that it intends to shut down. The list didn't include any stores in North Dakota or South Dakota.
In Minnesota, the company is shutting Kmart stores in Willmar, Duluth, New Hope and White Bear Lake.
Sears Holdings says the targeted stores aren't doing well enough in sales to keep open. The company expects the shutdowns will reduce its fixed costs by up to $200 million annually.
