Brian R. Sandberg, 42, of Cando, ND, died Friday, March 5, 2010, at his home.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 10, at Cando Lutheran Church at 11 a.m.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 9, at Dunnigan-Dix Funeral Home, Cando, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, at Dunnigan-Dix Funeral Home at 7p.m.
Inurnment will be in Norway Lutheran Cemetery, Penn, ND, in the spring.
Brian Ray Sandberg was born June 26, 1967, at Devils Lake, ND, to Nelson Peter Paul Sandberg and Sandra Jean (Lueck) Berg. Brian lived in various places as a child and attended school at Devils Lake, Thompson, Sawyer and Grand Forks. Brian lived on a farmstead near Penn and also had lived in Leeds before moving to Cando. He worked for Noodles by Leonardo in the Maintenance Department for over 20 years. Brian married Dona Olson on September 28, 1985. Together they had two children. Brian has been with Sandra Volden since they met in 2002.
Brian loved to camp, go four-wheeling and watch movies. He also enjoyed playing video games with his son and “tinkering” on vehicles in his garage with his daughter. Brian was a quiet man with a big heart and truly loved his grandkids and spending time with his family and friends.
Brian is survived by his daughter, Amber (Ben) Sander, of Grand Forks, ND, and son, Zachary Sandberg, of Devils Lake; two grandchildren, Bailey and Brighton Sander; his fiancé, Sandra Volden and her daughter Haley Eggl, of Cando; his parents, Nelson “Pete” Sandberg, of Minot, ND; Sandra (Sanford) Berg, of Towner, ND; sister, Brenda (Tom) Jorgenson, of Bottineau, ND, and their children; step-sisters, Connie (Randy) Johnson, of Lakota, ND, and Rhonda (Randy) Hartley, of Minot, ND; along with his faithful companion of 18 years, Rex (dog).
Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, step-father, Francis Wolfe, and many aunts and uncles.
