Ila Fern Guthrie, 71, a life-long resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Neighborhoods surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be Monday, April 9 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 West, Columbia. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 10 at St. Luke UMC, 204 East Ash St., Columbia, burial will follow in Columbia Cemetery.
Ila was born Jan. 4, 1947 in Columbia to Andrew and Rosie Wilson Jackson.
She was a 1965 graduate of Hickman High School, and attended Northeast Missouri State in Kirksville.
For 35 years, she worked for the University of Missouri Campus Dining Services.
She was a religious and artistic woman who enjoyed painting, writing, and reading a good book.
She is survived by three children, Kimberly Wilson of Columbia, Laura Wilson of Sanford, Fla., and Larry Guthrie, Jr. of Columbia; siblings, Gary (Patricia) Jackson of Columbia, Andrea Jackson of Moberly, and Jennifer (Anthony) Lloyd of St. Louis; granddaughter, Olivia Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Larry Guthrie, Sr.; and her parents preceded her in death.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Family for St. Luke United Methodist Church.
