Maryann Reiger, 71, of South St. Paul, MN, formerly of Devils Lake, ND, died on Thursday, May 10, 2012 in the loving care of her family and Hospice.
Mass of Christian Burial for Maryann will be on Wednesday, May 16, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. Dale Kinzler will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 15 at St. Joseph Catholic Church from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a Rosary and scripture service at 7 p.m. Visitation on Wednesday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass.
Serving as casket bearers for Richard will be George Reiger, Larry McPeek, Kevin Wilhelmi, Gary Reiger and Maryann’s sons, Richard Reiger, Curtis Reiger and Joseph Reiger. Reading the scriptures will be Gayle Wilhelmi and the gift bearers will be Janamarie Jorgensen, Samantha Reiger, Natasha Reiger and Laura Reiger.
Maryann Reiger was born on October 6, 1940 at Grafton, ND, the daughter of Ernest and Alice (Kovarik) Svercl. She was reared and educated in the Lawton area and moved with her family to Devils Lake in 1957.
Maryann was united in marriage to Richard Reiger on November 25, 1961 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. They lived in Devils Lake for a year, then established their home in South St. Paul where they have lived, worked and raised their family through the years. Maryann worked many years as a factory worker. Richard died on December 29, 2007. Maryann continued to make South St. Paul her home.
Maryann’s greatest love was spending time with her dear family and many friends. We have lost someone very special to us and her memory will be forever in our hearts.
She is survived by her sons, Richard Reiger of Bismarck, ND, Curtis Reiger and his wife, Dana of South St. Paul, Joseph Reiger and his wife, Jenny of St. Paul; grandchildren, Jamilyn, Tyler, Janamarie, Samantha, Natasha, Kelsie, Nicholas, Laura and Benjamin; great grandchildren, Ethan, Dominyck, Charlie Junior “CJ”; sisters, Loretta (Larry) McPeek, of Oakdale, MN, Irene (Mick) Fuller of Anaconda, MT, LaVerne (George) Reiger of Arvada, CO and Lorraine Black of Bismarck.
Maryann is preceded in death by her husband, Richard and her parents, Ernest and Alice Svercl.
