Students from Tate Topa Tribal School recently participated in the Native American State Science and Engineering Fair that was held at the Sevens Seas Convention Center in Mandan, ND, on January 16, 2012.
The students that participated were in grades third, fourth and fifth grades.
There were 21 students that attended the science fair, and ten students placed first, second or third in their respective science category. Two students qualified to continue on to the National American Indian Science & Engineering Fair and EXPO in Albuquerque, New Mexico in March 2012.
Award winners included: Riah Littleghost, first place in Medicine/Health; Latasha Bellile second place in Medicine/Health, Laila Gourd, second place in Environmental Sciences, Lucille Redtomahawk, third place in Environmental Sciences, Laurice Herman, second place in Plant Sciences, Dylon Littlewind, third place in Chemistry, Marissa Gourd, third place in Behavior/Social Sciences, Jordain Bellanger third place in Medicine/Health, Alice Scott third place in Behavior/Social Science), and Katie Redroad, first place in Physics/Astronomy.
