Robert M. Reando, 84, passed away quietly at his home in Anaheim, CA on Monday, January 23, 2012.  
Services for Robert will be held in Starkweather this summer.  
Robert was born and raised in Starkweather, ND, the only child of Peter J. and Evelyne C. (Olson) Reando. He joined the Navy Hospital Corps upon graduation from high school. He served in several Pacific theatres as well as stateside over the next 20 years before retiring to the Fleet Reserves.
A second career in the Southern California building industry followed, finally retiring in the mid-1980’s.  
Robert was blessed with family. In 1949, he married Flora B. Barkley in Bremerton, WA.  After Flora’s death, Robert met and married C. Diane Loehr Dreyer of Devils Lake in 1969.
The two raised their children in Anaheim.  After Robert’s final retirement, the couple divided their time between Anaheim and Starkweather.  
Robert is survived by his wife Diane and their four children, Peter J. (Melinda) Reando, Jon R. (Kim) Dreyer, C. Scott (Jeanette) Dreyer and Mary M. Reando. He also leaves behind five grandchildren and one great granddaughter.  
Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, is in charge of arrangements.
