The third grade class at Leeds School studied various Native American tribes during the month of November.  
They learned about the Native Americans of the Desert Southwest, the Great Plains, the Northwest Coast the Eastern Woodlands.  
They discussed the homes, food, clothing and customs of each tribe. The class also read many Native American legends.
The third graders did some weaving, wrote pictograph stories, made a totem pole and wrote their own Native American legend.
They also completed a sand painting in art class with Susan Braun.
November has been designated as Native American Heritage Month.
