The results of the June primary election are in and the following are the results for Devils Lake and Ramsey County:
Richard S. Johnson, running unopposed for Devils Lake Mayor, received 1,002 votes.
In the City Commission race the top vote getter was Craig Stromme with 769 votes, second was Rick Morse with 453 votes, then Nels Halgren with 330, Dale Robbins with 260, Joe Mertens with 250 and Jeff Klemetsrud with 228 votes.
The Devils Lake Park Board contest results: Kale Stromme with 914, Mike Frykman with 443, Jamie Beck received 391, John Mertens 228 and Daniel L. Mertens 226.
The Ramsey County Commission results showed Scott Diseth as the top vote getter with 1,154, then Kevin Frith with 864, Ed Brown with 863, Mike Klemetsrud with 736 and Mark Shipley with 474.
County Auditor Elizabeth Fischer running unopposed received 2,007 votes.
States Attorney Lonnie Olson received 1,977 votes.
County Recorder Katie Nadeau got 1,944 votes.
County Treasurer Lisa Diseth received 2,031 votes.
Director of Garrison Diversion Conservancy John V. Peyerl received 1,896 votes.
The Devils Lake Journal received 1,609 or 100 percent of the votes.
In the Ramsey County Sheriff’s race Steve Nelson was on top with 1,230 votes, Rob Hach received 697 and Chris Matheison 284.
County Measure 1: Shall the County of Ramsey, State of North Dakota, levy 1.25 mills on the net taxable valuation of all properties in the county for continued Extension Service (County Agent). This mill levy is to have an effective date of August 1, 2010. The County Agents Office provides the public with information and educational opportunities in the area of crop and livestock production, horticulture, 4-H/youth and family living. The current 2.75 mill does not cover the current Extension Service Budget. Measure No. 1 received 2,212 votes; 1,322 yes votes and 890 no votes.
County Measure 2: Shall the County of Ramsey, State of North Dakota, levy an additional .50 mills in accordance with Section 11-11-53 North Dakota Century Code, on the net taxable valuation of all property in the County, for the promotion of historical works within the borders of such county and in general defray the expense of carrying on historical work in the county. Said levy shall not be subject to the County Mill Levy Limitations, this levy to have an effective date of August 1, 2010; levy to commence on the 2010 tax year. Measure No. 2 received 2,193 votes; 1,125 yes votes and 1,068 no votes.
Starkweather
The Starkweather School Board Election results are as follows: Area D: Michelle Logie received 22 votes and Jason Skaar 1 vote.
At large area: Debbie Buechler received 20 votes, Cara Thompson 1 vote, Greg Plemel 1 vote and Don Bertsch 1 vote.
