“March is the month that most North Dakota anglers can’t wait for. It is a month of change for sure. No matter if you are an ice fisherman or prefer the waves of open water it is hard to not get excited about the month of March,” says Lake Region Anglers Association president Clark Williams.
The LRAA of Devils Lake realizes how popular March is with anglers and is capitalizing on that this month with two special events open to the public.
On March 16, the LRAA will host two special guests from the North Dakota Game and Fish Department. Randy Hiltner and Scott Gangl will be on hand to discuss the state of the Devils Lake fishery. It is no secret the fishing on Devils Lake is good; Randy and Mark will shed some light on just how good it can be, what anglers can expect and what the future holds for the lake. The meeting will start at 7 p.m.
Just three short days later, on March 19, the LRAA will hold their Annual Meeting. After a very short business meeting, the fun starts. There will be a meal served and several awards presented. The anglers will be presenting a Sportsman of the Year award as well as a very special Life Time Achievement award.
New to the Annual Meeting this year will be the raffles. There will be several ways to win many of the prizes donated by Berkley, Navionics, and Rapala, as well as the grand prize of a Humminbird Ice 45 sonar unit.
The meeting will take place at the Knights of Columbus and the buffet will begin at 6 p.m.
