MADISON, Minn. (AP) — Farmers and police are looking for 26 steers stolen from a western Minnesota farm over the weekend.
KSAX-TV reports the steers were noticed missing from a feedlot when other cattle were found running around a farmyard southwest of Madison.
Tracks were seen leading up to a loading area and pens were moved. Authorities say the animals didn't get out on their own because all fences were closed and secure.
The steers, raised for slaughter, are valued at around $40,000, and weigh between 1,200 and 1,500 pounds. Authorities said some may have yellow ear tags.
