ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A St. Paul man faces multiple charges after authorities say he held his live-in girlfriend captive for three days and beat her — leaving her bruised from head to toe.
According to a complaint filed Thursday, 21-year-old Branden Fourre began assaulting his girlfriend Saturday morning.
The complaint says he beat her with a hanger and pool cue, and threatened her with a gun. He also allegedly hit her with a wooden chair, breaking one of the chair's legs.
He allegedly took Monday off work and asked a friend to bring him lozenges and ibuprofen because his voice was hoarse from yelling and his foot was swollen from kicking her.
Fourre went to work Tuesday and the woman escaped.
Fourre's attorney, Geoffrey Saltzstein, says he doesn't want to diminish the allegations, but he'll vigorously defend his client.
