They believe that the downtown is important for the success of Devils Lake.

Of the 10 percent of the community that responded, most of them spend time in downtown, whether it is daily, two or three times a week or once a week.

Most responded that they feel safe in downtown Devils Lake and overwhelmingly believe that downtown should be designed for its residents, not so much for tourists.

When asked to prioritize their importance to downtown events, walkability, restaurants and nightlife and retail were all nearly equal with housing, parking improvements, bicycle friendliness, public gathering space and student friendly offerings a close second.
