CHI St. Alexius Health, the Devils Lake hospital has issued a request to remind area residents that due to the increased amount of influenza cases in the Lake Region this year, they will be restricting visitation to all departments of the hospital.

CHI St. Alexius Health, the Devils Lake hospital has issued a request to remind area residents that due to the increased amount of influenza cases in the Lake Region this year, they will be restricting visitation to all departments of the hospital.

Those restrictions include the following:

•Children under 12 years of age are prohibited from visiting patients.
•Visitation is restricted to immediate family only; immetiate family members not vaccinated against influenza will be required to wear a mask.
•ER, lab and radiology patients who are experiencing flu-like symptoms or who have not received the influenza vaccine are required to wear a mask.

The restrictions will remain in place until the threat of influenza has passed or returned to normal seasonal level.
The general public is reminded it is not too late to vaccinate against influenza. In addition, it is important always to cover your cough and practice good hand hygiene.
