Devils Lake Superintendent Scott Privratsky said this year he had to go looking for comments on the proposed calendar for the 2018-’19 school year.

He presented the calendar to the school board and they approved it without modification.

Privratsky pointed out that it was very similar to this year’s calendar and that they had built into it some things, like a longer Easter break, that teachers appreciated.

Then the board met Teacher of the Quarter Amanda Bennett from the Minnie H Kindergarten Center. Principal Kim Krogfoss introduced her to the board and explained how she was selected for the award.
The recognition of the Classified Employee of the Quarter will have to wait until he returns in the spring, bus driver Larry Leier has gone south for the winter.

For school board professional development Privratsky presented a document based on the North Dakota Century Code that detailed the duties of the superintendent and the duties or responsibilities of the school board.

Following approving a leave of absence request, tuition waivers and two resignations of personnel the superintendent reminded the board of the meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 5 p.m. and on Monday, Feb. 26 at 12 p.m. (Noon).
