On December 4th, a beautiful spirit, Connie Skidmore, was freed from a tired and frail vessel.

On December 4th, a beautiful spirit was freed from a tired and frail vessel. Free to soar with the wind and free to visit with loved ones gone before her. Born in Devils Lake, North Dakota, Connie loved the outdoors, camping, and fishing were at the top of her list. Not only could she catch fish, by joe she could clean them. Having a love for animals, she spent hours watching Animal Planet, and shedding a tear for those that were mistreated. All of this with her dog, Houston, by her side. Being a champion of the underdog was just in her DNA. In her younger years, she sang with many bands. Using that Patsy Cline-like voice to bring smiles to many. Connie co-wrote and recorded the Pussy Cat Song, along with others, Bright Summer Morning, and Sweet Morning Dew. If the after-life provides a path for dreams to come true, Connie is spending her days using that beautiful voice to sing a happy song and waiting for the big one to bite. Gods Speed Connie. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jeralene Naaden and her son, Chet McKelvey. Connie is survived by her significant other of 33 years, Michael Donaldson. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Melanie (Michael) Carter of North Dakota; her father, Howard Forde of Florida; her 3 brothers, Terrie, Tyrone, and Corey Forde of various places; her sister, Wanda Spangler; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. In memory of Connie memorials are suggested to Sarge's Animal Rescue Foundation. Smoky Mountain Cremations and Funeral Service of Clyde is caring for the family and the online register is available at www.smokymountaincremations.com.
