The Devils Lake Firebirds boys hockey team met Minot on the ice of Burdick Arena for the first home game of the season Thursday evening, Nov. 30.

The Devils Lake Firebirds boys hockey team met Minot on the ice of Burdick Arena for the first home game of the season Thursday evening, Nov. 30.

It was a fast-paced, physical match-up that ended with a 3-1 score, the Minot Magicians over the Devils Lake Firebirds.

Starters for the Firebirds were Reegan Reule (30), Riley Roed (07), Camden Schwab (10), Carson Lovin (16), Tommy Reslock (04) and Craig Peterson (12).

Starters for Minot were Jordan Love, Patrick Heide, Tatum Hertz, Sam Opozda, Brock Bergrude and Mason Diehl.

Devils Lake scored in the third period while Minot scored two in period two and one in the third period.
Shots on goal for the first period were 7 for DL and 15 for Minot, second period it was 0 for DL and 10 for Minot, and third period, 11 for DL and 10 for Minot for a total of 18 for DL and 35 for Minot.

The Firebirds were coached by Jens Stokke and Minot Magicians by Jason Bennett and John Grubb.

DL girls hockey meets Minot today, Friday, Dec. 1 at home at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 2 the girls’ opponent is Williston at 7 p.m., also at home.
