The North Dakota Officials Association (NDOA) announces the 48th induction class to the 2017-18 Hall of Fame.
VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The North Dakota Officials Association (NDOA) announces the 48th induction class to the 2017-18 Hall of Fame as determined at its recent Board of Directors meeting. The inductees will be recognized and receive awards at various North Dakota High School Activities Association (NDHSAA) events during the 2017-18 school year. Inductees are:
Terry Wallace – Devils Lake
Terry Wallace has officiated basketball for 43 years, football for 35 years and has also officiated high school baseball and softball. He has officiated many district, region and state basketball tournaments and has officiated three High School State Football Championships.
Terry has officiated many college games as well. Along with the thousands of basketball, football, baseball and softball games, Terry has been the assignor of basketball games for the Devils Lake Officials Association for over 30 years. He has served as an NDHSAA Workshop Supervisor and helped many young officials get started in officiating. Terry has been the superindendent of Parks and Recreation in Devils Lake since 1991 and is presently still officiating basketball, football and softball. He resides in Devils Lake with his wife Patty and has two sons and one daughter.
Mike Deutsch - Fargo
Mike Deutsch has officiated high school football and basketball for thirty-eight years in North Dakota.
Mike owns and operates Deutsch’s Office Supplies in Fargo where he and his wife Maggie reside. Their children, Joe, Danny and Elizabeth, all live in Fargo with seven grandchildren.
John Nelson – West Fargo
John Nelson officiated high school and college wrestling in North Dakota for thirty-four years.
John is the Principal at Ben Franklin Middle School in Fargo. He and his wife, Cindy, reside in West Fargo.
Ken Willmann - Fargo
Ken Willmann officiated high school volleyball for 26 years from 1987 to 2013. He is a retired full-time employee of the North Dakota Army National Guard. He and his wife Cindy reside in Fargo.
The NDOA has inducted 139 officials into its Hall of Fame since the inaugural class in 1965.
Plaques commemorating all Hall of Fame members are housed in the ND Athletic Hall of Fame, located inside the Jamestown Civic Center.
