A very special group of people from throughout the Lake Region and beyond will participate Saturday, Sept. 16 in the 6th annual Freedom Fighters Run leaving from two locations.

Many of the Spirit Lake Riders MC members call Devils Lake home, that’s why this Saturday a number of them will be gathering at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Club, 308 3rd Ave. N. before they head out on their final big event for the summer.

Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. with a fee charged for each bike and an additional fee for each rider with all money raised going to help the homeless veterans of North Dakota through the Veterans Resource Group (VRG).

Riders from the eastern part of the state who belong to the club will be gathering at the Work Zone located at 701 Main Ave. E in West Fargo at the same time.
Kickstands up at 12 p.m. for riders from both directions. The first stop on the run will be in McVille where the two groups will join into one, then they will ride into Aneta for dinner and a program at the Whitetail Bar that is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

Aneta is the location of the SLRMC clubhouse.

The public is welcome to participate in the run - whether on motorcycle or a four-wheel vehicle - and/or to attend the dinner and program at the Whitetail. A free will offering will be taken to pay for the meal and program. All money raised will go to the VRG administered by Ellen McKinnen through the Dakota Prairie Action Agency offices in Devils Lake.
