Thirteen students from DLHS are hoping to travel to Europe in June 2018.

Most of them are members of the JROTC and their goal is to raise enough money so that 13 of them can travel to several places in Europe, places of importance during World War II.
This WWII European History Tour in June 2018. It is a 14-day long trip with tours in England, Belgium, Germany, France and Austria.

Some of the places visited will include the D-day Beaches of Normandy, the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, the remains of the Berlin Wall and finally a tour of the Dachau Concentration Camp.
Each student is required to pay $4,719 for their individual trip.
That means they have to raise over $61,000.

They started fundraising in June and since then they’ve participated in Reel Fun Days, cleaned ditches, set up tents in the Leevers Foods North Parking lot for the Chamber’s Farmers Market Thursday afternoons and evenings and they served the Ramsey County Commissioners Taco in a Bag at a meeting Sept. 7. They have also sold popcorn at Farmers Market on Saturdays in Roosevelt Park, helped with the Cabela’s Walleye Fishing Tournament, and did a “Crunch for the Cause” at Taco John’s. Recently they wrapped up a Little Caesar’s Pizza Kit fundraiser.
Next Monday, Sept. 18, starting at 5 p.m. and ending at 8 p.m., they will serve as greeters at the Pizza Ranch, clearing tables and serving customers. Tips collected and a portion of all sales that evening will be given to the group for their trip to Europe.

They also plan to raise funds through Little Coyote Coffee (starts at the end of Sept.), Applebees on Oct. 11 and 12, selling popcorn at Farmer’s Market this coming Saturday and through the window at the North Dakota Coffee Connection, selling tacos in a bag at Fright Night on Oct. 29, serving breakfast and lunch at the One Stop Shopping event on Nov. 4 in St. Joseph Parish Hall and at the Holiday Mall Craft Shows on Oct. 21 and Dec. 2.

A note of clarification, this fundraiser is hosted by a number of the parents of the students involved and is not sponsored by DLHS.
