The Sunday of the Stump Lake Threshing Bee was hot and sunny, unlike the last two years, and the people came out in droves to enjoy it.

The top event was the Robby Vee concert, on the Wamduska Stage. There wasn’t a seat available in the entire venue as rock-n-rollers of all ages gathered to hear Robby’s show that honors the memory of his famous father, Bobby Vee.
He sang all the crowd’s favorites in spite of the soaring temperatures indoors and out.

A special feature at this year’s Stump Lake Threshing Bee was the Tri-State Vietnam Memorial Wall displayed inside the “Main Street” building at the Stump Lake Village. Six panels of the memorial hold the names of the men from North Dakota who lost their lives in Vietnam. (See page 3 inside for the local names listed)

The Stump Lake Threshing Bee continues today (Monday, Sept. 4 - Labor Day) with concerts, demonstrations, displays and items for sale in the commercial building. Food is also available at several locations in the Stump Lake Village including ice cream cones, Juneberry pies, rommegrot and much more.
