George “Joe” Rosinski, age 93, of Cando, ND, formerly of Lawton, ND, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, at Towner County Medical Center Hospital in Cando.
George “Joe” Rosinski, age 93, of Cando, ND, formerly of Lawton, ND, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, at Towner County Medical Center Hospital in Cando. Memorial services will be held Saturday, Aug. 26 at 2 p.m. at Aaker Funeral Home, Lakota with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Lawton Cemetery. Joe was born March 2, 1924, in rural Lawton, ND, the son of Frank and Jessie (Jonas Matejcek) Rosinski. He grew up and attended rural school near Lawton. During World War II, Joe worked in the shipyards of Calif. After the war, he came back to North Dakota to farm. Joe married Doris Severson, March 27, 1952, in Lakota, ND. The couple farmed near Brocket, ND, and then moved into Devils Lake while Joe worked at the Oddfellows Home. They moved to the farm by Lawton in 1957 where they worked and raised their family together. After retiring from farming, Joe and Doris moved into Devils Lake. Joe was a kind and generous man who always provided for his family and loved them very much. Joe is survived by his sons, David (Bev) Rosinski (Lawton), and Gene (Dianna) Rosinski (Cando); grandchildren, Mykal (Glenn) Morstad (Hampden, ND), John (Jessica) Rosinski (Rolla, ND), Ryan (Amber) Rosinski (Lankin, ND), Brock Rosinski (Mandan, ND), and Chelsea (Scott) Gable (Cando); great-grandchildren, Kaisa, Presley, Ordale, and Kemi Morstad, Jenna, Jeffry, Jack, Avery and Jace Rosinski, Peyton, Sophie, Mason and Grace Gable and several nieces and nephews. Joe is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris; five sisters, Nelle Matejcek, Bessy Matejcek, Adeline Sparrow, Florence Honkola and Irene Gibbons; six brothers, Edward Matejcek, Albert Matejcek, Frank Matejcek, Alvin Rosinski, Joey Rosinski and Gordon Rosinski.
