23-year-old Ian Stewart of Little Falls, Minn. became trapped in the wreckage for about an hour before being extracted by emergency personnel.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that a two-vehicle crash on Hwy. 2 near Petersburg led to a man being trapped in his vehicle for about an hour.
Authorities say that at about 6:58 p.m. Friday evening, a 2009 Chevy Silverado driven by 23-year-old Ian Stewart was traveling eastbound on Hwy. 2 when it rear-ended a camper that was attempting to turn right onto 124th Ave. NE.
Both the Silverado and the camper were totaled, and emergency crews worked to free Stewart from the wreckage before he was transported to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks with unspecified injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
