The tractor-trailer sustained heavy damage, while the Amtrak was able to continue to Minot after about a two-and-a-half hour delay.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that a tractor-trailer traveling north toward rural Granville crashed into an Amtrak train that was traveling westbound at about 7:40 a.m. Thursday.

The tractor-trailer, driven by 24-year-old Joshua Guse of Rugby, was reportedly attempting to cross when it struck the second engine of the train and damaged about eleven cars.

No injuries were reported in the crash. According to the patrol’s report, Guse was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
